Specials around Maidenhead

We have had plenty of steam action on the Great Western main line recently.

In its new all-black livery and un-named, 70000 heads west throughTaplow with a Cathedrals Express working   Jim Tucker

In regulation green livery, 70013 Oliver Cromwell, also pleasing the gallery at Taplow as she steams towards Maidenhead   Steve Ollive

Now resplendent in Brunswick green, 60163 Tornado is seen only minutes after Oliver Cromwell, en route from Didcot tothe London area to pick up a special working.   Steve Ollive

There is no shortage of private steam, either. A small group of members were lucky enough to visit Adrian Shooter’s Beeches Light Railway, in the garden of his Oxfordshire home. Alan Cooke’s pictures show his Darjeeling Himalaya Railway no. 19, Sharp Stewart 3518 of 1889 pulling a train, and resting on shed with the replica Ford Model T inspection vehicle.
