The Lever Brothers Railways Of Port Sunlight
Mike Lister
The talk commences with the Storeton tramway and the railways used for constructing Port Sunlight but principally it will tell the story of Levers railways. The soap factory was constructed in 1888 and its railways covered 54 track miles and the talk will describe the railway within the soap factory and other factories at Bromborough. The locomotives, rolling stock and its traffic, both normal and special will be seen.

CHESTER

Meetings are held at the Town Crier PH, City Rd, Chester CH1 3AE, located directly opposite the railway station. The meeting room is on the first floor, approached by a flight of stairs.

A donation of £3 is requested from non-members and £2 from members.

Meetings start at 19.30 and finish around 21.45.

LIVERPOOL

Meetings are held at Haig House Social Club, Woolton Road, Garston, Liverpool, L19 5NQ. The meeting is on the ground floor and has a ramped and staired approach.

Haig House is located about 100m west of Liverpool South Parkway station. Exit the station, walk to the main road (don't cross it), turn left for about 100m and the club is on the left (big white building).

A donation of £3 is requested from non-members and £2 from members.

Meetings start at 13.30 and finish around 15.45.
