Re: Eastern Region HST 1977 to MAy 1983

Andy, I have records of many ER ECML observations and limited WR Welsh observations in the period for which you are interested. It will just take quite a lot of research to identify the dates and units concerned, although the detail may be limited at this distance in time. For good measure and an ob...

Re: Railtour Report

I have always thought it to be Belle Vue station we travelled to, but as my railway interest had yet to blossom, I left the possibilities open. Certainly recall it being in a cutting quite clearly with housing on the embankment to the 'North' side and the train departing Westwards after depositing i...

They primarily manufactured wire rope and many 1960s built s...

Re: Railtour Report

Just as a cross reference from another topic on here, I have posted a few details regards a railtour I travelled on in 1974 - Western Dalesman, which was by far the worst tour I have ever been on due to the failure of numerous locomotives en route. Details here:- http://www.rcts.org.uk/forum/viewtop...

Re: Dalescroft Railfans

Sorry Peter, very little to add, as I was just a teenager, who along with my friends were too young to join RCTS at the time, so in those pre internet days, getting information was obviously not easy. We largely did our own thing, as the coach trips were relatively expensive and only went generally ...

Re: RO INDEX

I may not have asked yet, but undoubtedly would prefer a pre printed index to my sets of R.O. If they accurate, then they are undoubtedly useful for research. Rather than just stopping it, which I think many members would vote against, has it ever been considered if a paid for version could be distr...
