Re: Book search

You could also try http://www.bookfinder.com which give a rather wider choice than Amazon. This is a megasearch engine that trawls though bookdealer's stocks worldwide including many of the specialists in railway books. There are also a number of copies listed on eBay at the moment.

Hope Exchange Low Level and High Level

I am looking for photographs of Hope Exchange Low Level and High Level stations. Hope Exchange was where the Great Central's Wrexham, Mold and Connah's Quay line crossed the LNWR Chester to Denbigh line. This was purely an exchange station with no road or even footpath access. I am aware of publishe...

Re: Station Statistics

The Office of the Rail Regulator has just published some statistics on station usage for 2015-2016. This is probably the most interesting part as it shows comparative data for several years: http://orr.gov.uk/__data/assets/excel_doc/0012/20181/Estimates-of-Station-Usage-Time-Series-97-98-to-15-16.xl...

Barmouth Bridge Fire

I haven't seen much about it apart from local news reports but apparently there was a fire on early Tuesday morning on Barmouth Bridge leading to closure of the line. The line is still closed but is due to re-open tomorrow (Monday). Replacement buses have been operating from Barmouth to Tywyn althou...
