Cardiff (Queen Street)

Post by RichardCoulthurst » Sat Nov 29, 2014 9:48 am

I am told that "Modern Railway"s has reported in its December issue that the new entrance to the station is due to open on Sunday 30th November and that platform 1, the new bay platform for the Cardiff Bay shuttle, and the new Platform 5, for Taff Vale trains, will come into use on Sunday 14th December. This will mean that City Line trains to Radyr and trains to Penarth will depart from platform 2, platform 3 will be for trains to Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan line, and platform 4 will be the northbound platform for Rhymney, Caerphilly and Coryton.

Also the new platform 8 at Cardiff Central, although due for completion in summer 2015, will not come into use until Christmas 2016 due to cables having to be relocated.
