Clan Line finally arrived back at Stewarts Lane this afternoon somewhat travel stained but in excellent mechanical condition. The working members will now have to set to and prepare her for the 5th July Bournemouth Belle.posting.php?mode=reply&f=2&t=388#

Passed FTR , all prepared, polished and ready for tomorrow's 'Bournemouth Belle'. This is the 50th anniversary of the last time the Belle was steam hauled also the 50th anniversary of Clan Line's last day in traffic.

Although I wasn't in the support coach yesterday I gather it was a magnificent day, see the accolades on the Nat Pres forum. Clan Line still running in put up an exceptional performance.
Now off to 73A to help prep the loco for tomorrow's Surrey Hills, same again on Sat and out with the 'Waterloo Sunset' on Sun, phew! What dedication from MNLPS members every one a volunteer!

Clan Line has really hit the ground running, on Friday we hauled a VVIP 'Surrey Hills' charter. Yesterday morning whilst getting ready to depart on the 'Waterloo Sunset' to Yeovil we heard that we would be needed to cover today's VIP 'Surrey Hills' because both Braunton & Royal Scot were unavailable having failed FTR. We are booked out again tomorrow on a repeat SH VIP charter and then a normal SH next Saturday. Support crew have had to be called in at short notice and others have not been home for three days. Today the loco went out in a dirty condition by our standards however efforts were being made to rectify that this evening for 2moro.
For a loco that it not yet run in after overhaul and is still being treated gently she is performing extremely well.

Clan Line had another successful trip on Saturday 15/07 "Surrey Hills', this means she has now completed 6 revenue earning trains since the return to Stewarts Lane from Crewe on 30/06. Three of these trains were on consecutive days, "Waterloo Sunset" to Yeovil on 09/07, and "Surrey Hills" VIP charters for Cartier on 10 & 11/07. We have received lots of Brownie points from Belmond for covering for the failure of Braunton on Monday 10/07. Not bad for a loco that is not yet run in! We shall be carrying out a boiler washout next Saturday then there is a break until the next "Surrey Hills" on 11/08, we shall then be setting forth to Bristol for 'The Torbay Express" trips on 20/08 and 03/09. We shall be returning home on the return "British Pullman" from Bristol/Bath on Wednesday 6th Sept, Tornado covering the outward run.
