Another highly successful trip on the "Torbay Express" last Sunday, despite the weather conditions. A storming climb to Whiteball on the return with a maximum of 62 MPH at the summit. Tomorrow Clan Line returns to Stewarts Lane hauling the "British Pullman" from Bristol TM to Victoria, 60163 having worked the outbound.

A very good trip back from Bristol TM to Victoria with the Pullmans. Clan Line had load 13 equal to 500 tons on the drawbar, reached 70 by Box Tnl, 54 1/2 at the summit, 76 thru Chippenham, 63 Dauntsey summit, speed in the mid 70 range between Swindon & Challow where looped for 4 HSTs to pass, took 3600 galls in Milton Loop, again speed in mid 70s Didcot to Reading, slow run up via Ascot & Hounslow following SWR trains arrived 21 05 4 late. A very satisfactory run without extending the loco.
Now its get ready for next Wednesday's trip round Kent with UKRT Golden Arrow.
If you are reading my reports I would be interested to know if you consider it worthwhile my efforts in putting them on the forum.

Passed FTR for tomorrow's Golden Arrow, prepared & polished, looks good with GA regalia including carrying correct duty number on one of the front discs to be historically accurate, Stewarts Lane number 4 duty, return now via Sevenoaks instead of Redhill.Hoping for a good trip.

A highly successful trip round the Garden of England on Wednesday 13th, the timings were not received from NR until the day before and included some changes to the times & routing. The water stop on the return was at Dover Priory instead of Folkestone West and instead of going via Redhill the train was diverted via Sevenoaks, this of course was the traditional route of the Golden Arrow. The highlight of the day was the storming climb from Deal to Martin Mill with 500 tons on the drawbar in wet conditions.
