I understand that the honourable RCTS published, probably many years ago, a book entitled 'Railways of South Yorkshire coalfields from 1880' by Dr. A.L Barnett.

I have a collection of negatives from that part of the country taken in the 1950s, stations that are long gone, and I am hoping to be able to find an RCTS member who has a copy of this remarkable piece of research that I could purchase. I would like to know more about the large network of railways and also identify some of the places featured in these negatives, taken by another railway enthusiast Doctor - John Westall.

Hi Adrian.

I remember the book well but do not personally have a copy. However I shall circulate your request around relevant colleagues who may be able to help.

You could also try http://www.bookfinder.com which give a rather wider choice than Amazon. This is a megasearch engine that trawls though bookdealer's stocks worldwide including many of the specialists in railway books. There are also a number of copies listed on eBay at the moment.
