I am pleased to advise that Clan Line has passed the FTR for tomorrow's Surrey Hills, Pullman. The leaking stays in the firebox which caused the failure prior to the last run have been fixed and the flats on the support coach have been removed by courtesy of Selhurst wheel lathe.

Another reliable run by Clan Line slightly marred by signal checks resulting in a 16 minute late arrival. The DL remained attached on the rear as leaf fall precaution but is was not necessary for it to be called into action.

Clan Line has passed the FTR for tomorrow's Surrey Hills Belmond Pullman. This is the final trip of this year's programme, following this run our annual maintenance period will be taking place. The next time Clan Line will be seen on the mainline is Saturday 8th February when she will be hauling a repeat Surrey Hills then on Saturday 15th February the UKRT St Valentine's Day Chiltern & Downs Pullman will be running.

A very successful and uneventful trip. At times the train was running well ahead of schedule, this was as a result of a clear pathway between Clapham Junction and Woking due to SWR industrial action.

After undergoing our annual winter maintenance programme including hot and cold exams on the boiler to renew our insurance certificate for a further year; I am pleased to report that Clan Line has passed the FTR for tomorrow's Surrey Hills 'Belmond British Pullman'.

An uneventful outward run with a diversion from our normal route round the Hounslow Loop due to engineering work in progress. On the the return trip the train came to a stand in advance of Chilworth due to a failure of the level crossing barriers, this resulted in a delay of 5 minutes, however all the lost time was regained giving a right time arrival back at Victoria.

One further bit of information, the Class 67 remained attached but was unmanned as there was no driver available and consequently was not providing any power. This meant there was an additional 90 tons of deadweight which was hauled out of Victoria on the 1 in 64 to Grosvenor Bridge without any difficulty.

I'm pleased to report Clan Line has passed the FTR for tomorrow's UKRT 'St Valentine's Day Pullman'. The route will be via the Chilterns & Downs, IZ82 departing Victoria at 1049, via WLL, Greenford Loop, GW & GC joint to Princes Risborough, Oxford Parkway 13 24 to 13 45 where water will be taken, thence via Oxford, Didcot, Reading, Guildford, Shalford water stop 15 25 to 15 43, continuing to Redhill, East Croydon, Clapham Jn arriving at Victoria at 1717. Sadly the weather for the trip does not look promising.

Despite the appalling weather yesterday it was a highly successful trip for the 'St Valentines Day Pullman, the timekeeping was was exemplarily for a run of this nature mostly right time and never more than a few minutes early or late. The load consisted of the normal Belmond Pullman set plus our support coach a total of 13 vehicles weighing over 500 tons on the drawbar, except for the initial 1/64 climb out of Victoria where the DL was dropped over there was no assistance. UKRT will be well pleased as the train was fully booked.
