BLS/SLS "Scottish Rambler" tour April 1962

Post by Richard Allen » Mon May 20, 2019 8:09 pm

I've recently acquired a job lot of slides and some are of a three-day marathon tour of Scotland by the BLS and SLS in April 1962 (before my time!), the "Scottish Rambler", which used the four preserved ScR steam locos to all sorts of interesting places.

Anyway, there are some I cannot identify:

123, possibly at Kilmarnock:

103 at an unknown location:

49 Gordon Highlander at an unknown location:

According to Six Bells Junction, 103 worked Inverness to Alves, Burghead, Orbliston, Fochabers Town, Keith and Aultmore and 49 did Keith to Inveramsay, Turriff, Inverurie, Old Meldrum, Kintore and Alford to Aberdeen.
