DESCRIPTION:A further presentation of photographs from the Sutton Coldfield Railway Society’s Moseley Archive of over 2000 photographs taken by the late Percy Moseley between 1911 and the 1970s. Following previous presentations of images from the 1940s and early 1950s\, for this evening’s presentation we return to the pre-war era of the early 1930s\, when many of the steam locos that were part of the spotting experience for many of us were only just appearing (or still in the future). SUMMARY:The Dick Sansbury Collection
DESCRIPTION:Dick was a Geography teacher and taught at Eastleigh and also at Aberystwyth University which is why this show mainly covers Hampshire and the Cambrian lines of the Western Region in the 1950s. There are also odd pictures taken around the western region and some on the London Midland Region\, but virtually little on the eastern region. Whilst mainly steam\, some modern traction is there as well\, but of course not modern now. EE type 4. Warships and Hampshire and Hastings DEMUs appear as well. The original pioneer preserved narrow gauge railways of Wales also feature. The best pictures of local interest are men at work in Eastleigh works in the 1950s. Dick was a good friend of Eastleigh Shed master and well-known author and photographer Stephen Townroe so got into places not always available to the public like footplate rides and accident scenes. Most of the pictures were taken between 1950 and 1965.

DESCRIPTION:In the fourth and final part of the North Staffordshire Railway talks series using digitised images from the collection of over 15\,000 colour slides taken by the late Tommy Tomalin (who sadly passed away in 2021 at the grand old age of 96).  Brian Sullivan continues by showing us views (with historical details) of the Potteries Loop Line from Etruria Junction to Kidsgrove\, the North Staffs main line from Stoke to Macclesfield\, the Macclesfield Bollington and Marple line (Great Central and North Staffs Joint Line) also known as the Macclesfield Committee Line\, and finally the North Staffs line from Lawton Junction to Sandbach.

SUMMARY:Memories of a Gorleston Spotter (Part 1)
DESCRIPTION:A presentation by Chris Wright for the Hitchin & Welwyn Garden City branch. \nFrom the presenter\, in his own words: \nChris Wright grew up in the 1950s and 60s in the Norfolk seaside town of Gorleston-on-Sea. His talk covers memories of early days spotting in Norfolk: on holidays with the family\, and numerous school holiday stays with relatives in Hitchin between 1959 and 1965\, where he became an honorary member of the local spotting fraternity\, and with whom he did many trips in pursuit of steam as it receded from the East of England.  His talk is in two parts\, the first on Tuesday 28th January 2025 and the second on Tuesday 28th October 2025  \nDoors open 13:30 for a 14:00 start.

DESCRIPTION:A further presentation of Black and White images\, drawn from the Ken Nunn collection and scanned from glass plates\, illustrating railways in Britain before the Great War. Tonight’s is the second of the three parts\,  featuring Southern and Western (the railways which would be amalgamated into the Southern\, GWR and LMSR in 1923). The Ken Nunn collection was acquired by the LCGB after Ken’s death\, and although it has now been transferred to the NRM\, ‘showing rights’ to the scanned images were retained\, and Jeremy Harrison is making this presentation wearing his LCGB hat. \nFor this virtual event\, you will require a ticket.
