The bodies of two LNER BZ survived for many years at the Great Central Railway but both have now been scrapped. Pictured is the body of 70668 when located at Rothley,   Ivor Bufton

It has been quoted that the body that was at the Great Central Railway was that of 70652 rather than this. This is possible. The clue lies with the initially disposal of 70652 and 70688. Can anyone give further information regarding this?

The body was sold by George Cohen Sons & Company to The North London Society of Model Engineers and after wheels, batteries and running gear had been removed at Cransley was to be transporeted to their Colney Heath site. However the body sufferred fire damage whilst at Cransley and the sale was cancelled.

70719 1976/77 After withdrawal stored at Whittlesea from where it was purchased by The North London Society of Model Engineers. It was moved to St. Neots where the wheels, batteries and running gear were removed, the body was then transported to their Park Corner, Colney Heath, Hertfordshire site where it has remained ever since.
