DESCRIPTION:35018 Bournemouth Belle in 1956 Colin Boocock is\, among other things\, a member of the Railway Photographic Society\, having been a railway photographer covering much of the world in the 79 years since he started taking pictures. He worked for British Rail and Railtrack for 41 years and then part-time for a decade or so after he retired from full-time work. He is also the author of many magazine articles and railway books. \n1\,000 eggs on a bicycle! consists largely of railway photographs taken in every year since 1947\, the year Colin first started railway photography\, right up to the present day. A number of clubs have enjoyed their first showing immensely. This was partly because of the huge range of railway content\, all types of trains in all sorts of places in the U.K. and in many other countries of the world. The reason for the bizarre title of the show must remain a secret until your club sees it.

DESCRIPTION:We start at Swindon – head west on the “new” route to South Wales as far as the Bristol/Gloucester route where we turn north – taking in the Midland Route with appropriate motive power. A visit to the iconic Severn Bridge along the way before arrival at Gloucester. We return south via Stroud Chalford and Sapperton to Swindon. Reversing again we head south west to Westbury and then up the Berks and Hants to Reading followed by a dash back to Swindon via Didcot.

DESCRIPTION:Adrian Garner started modelling monorails in the 1960’s and his research on monorails both within the UK and internationally has been collated into his two books on monorails covering the period to 1900 and the subsequent period from 1900 to 1950 \nAdrian’s talk will concentrate on the earlier period but if time allows he will dip into the latter. Whilst not an engineer\, his wider interests include model engineering and clock making. He is a member of both the Model Railway Club in London and a past chairman of the Society of Model and Experimental Engineers and writes occasional articles for a variety of railway and modelling magazines.
