Q19.12 – NG Locomotives at Cork Exhibition 1932

I have just read in a book on the Irish NG the following. At the Cork

International and Agricultural Fair May to September 1932 two 15 inch gauge

Pacific Locomotives and Carriages arrived and departed by sea from Germany.

They were named BRANGSCH and LEIPZIG. Does anyone out there know their

identities, or if they still exist? (Mike Green: 9297)

ANSWER

Krauss built several of these locomotives, including 3 for Vienna, and supplied two 15 inch gauge pacifics to E. Brangsch, Leipzig in 1928 . Works No’s 8444/5.

Similar ones were built by Krupp, of which one is at the RHDR and one at Bressingham.(Mike Green: 9297)
