The South East branch was founded in Asford in 1992. Peter Glenn was the first Chairman with Eric Palmer as secretary and John King as Treasurer. The railway works had closed 10 years previously so many former railwaymen were attracted to the meetings. Attendances soon grew to 60 plus at each meeting.
A local pub was the first venue, then the Elwick Club and currently the Railway Staff club.
