  1. Acting Chairman/Secretary Report

Alan presented the Secretary’s report for the year and highlighted the subjects of the monthly meetings held and the summer outing to Kirkby Stephen. The move to Wednesday nights had not proved detrimental but was necessary to get the best rates at the Hotel. He said that attendances at meetings had not recovered to pre-Covid levels and, like many similar societies, the Branch is finding it hard to attract better attendances. But for the legacy left to the branch some years ago it would now have run out of money. The Branch is solvent for now but each meeting is now running at a loss. It was unanimously agreed to increase the admission donations to £5 for non-members and £3 for members for next season.

  1. Annual Accounts 2021

David Bousfield presented the Annual Accounts showing assets of £1355.47. They were approved, subject to Audit by Ron Oswald. This was expected to be concluded in a matter of days.

  1. Developments

Nothing to report other than ongoing work to bring together a future programme of speakers.

  1. Election of Officers

The current officers had indicated their willingness to stand for another year but any volunteers to help would always be welcome. David Bousfield said that while he was happy to act as Treasurer for the year his activities may be restricted due to personal issues but Will Gibson Can step in at any time. Officers are as follows:

Acting Chairman/Secretary – Alan Sattenstall

Treasurer – David Bousfield/Will Gibson

Publicity Officer – John Owen

  1. Any Other Business

A vote of thanks was proposed from the floor to the Committee with appreciation of all the work it does to deliver an attractive programme of events, and particular reference was made of the summer outing to Kirkby Stephen.

Meeting concluded at 19.50.
