23rd February 2026: Railways in the Cornish Landscape, by Stephen Gay

Stephen Gay returned, he said, for his 10th visit, this time well away from his Yorkshire territory, with an illustrated talk on some of Cornwall’s branch lines and the main line as far as St Austell. He had worked out his timetable to capture the best views at the best time of day and booked the best weather, resulting in superb photos of the Cornish rail scene over the past 25 years or so. His anecdotes, narrated in his inimitable Yorkshire accent, made for another splendid afternoon. We look forward to part two when he will finish the journey to Penzance and then venture onto to the north coast and SR territory.
