7 November 2025, ‘That Was The Year That Was 1966, by Geoff Plumb.

We welcomed Geoff for his fifth presentation. He started around the Sheffield area with several photos of LMS Royal Scots and Black 5s between Sheffield and Nottingham.  His presentation included scenes of Crewe Works, the Great Central Line, the West Coast Main line as well as the East Coast Main Line. A visit was made to several Welsh Narrow Gauge lines as well as the Cambrian Coast. We then move on to Waterloo with 35028 ‘Clan Line on a RCTS Rail tour over the Somerset & Dorset. The train was double headed over the S&D itself with a Black 5 and a Standard 4 Tank.  A further two RCTS rail tour were run from Waterloo, headed by two Southern ‘N’ Class moguls to the Longmoor Railway where WD 2-10-0 ‘Gordon’ took over the train.  Saddle tank No 195 was observed at the head of some elderly coaches.  There were several scenes taken on the Settle & Carlisle line with a view of a Class 47 on the Ribblehead Viaduct. We moved on to the Cambrian line again after visiting the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway calling in at the Fairbourne, Snowdon Mountain Railway and Corris railway. The presentation was concluded by returning to Crewe with a couple of Britannias and a WD 2-8-0 outside the shed. As usual this was a thoroughly entertaining presentation, and we are looking forward to Geoff’s next presentation (1967).
