13th July 2021 · Trip to Scotland
The Branch’s first outdoor visit since the onset of Covid took place on 13th July when six members joined what has previously been our annual trip to Scotland, although this time we didn’t include a ferry trip.
On what was a very pleasant day the party took two routes to Edinburgh – one using the 07.49 Warrington Bank Quay – Glasgow Central and then on to Edinburgh via the 12.15 ex-Queen St., whilst the other group took the 07.38 Wigan North Western – Edinburgh direct.
Once in Edinburgh the party went their separate ways, depending on individual interests, and the return to Glasgow saw different routes taken before the party boarded the 18.40 Glasgow Central – Wigan or Warrington.
An enjoyable day was had by all who attended, more so because most members have been unable to enjoy much, if any, train travel for a year or more.
