  1. Secretary Report

 

Alan presented the Secretary’s report for the year and highlighted the subjects of the monthly meetings held. The overhang from covid is still being felt with people’s aspirations and expectations completely altering, many of our older members not wishing to come out, especially on a winter evening, maybe a switch to afternoon sessions will be worth a try.

  1. Many organisations are reporting a fall in numbers and we are no different. In fact, it is fair to say that without the legacy from a former member we would be bankrupt, the branch folding and no longer offering you excellent railway presentations. The Welcome

  1. Apologies for Absence

 

None reported.

increased admission donations to £5 for non-members and £3 for members was helpful in keeping the branch operational.

 

  1. Annual Accounts 2021

 

Will Gibson presented the Annual Accounts showing assets of £1116.31 which does not include a refund due from h/o. They were approved by Ron Oswald the auditor.

 

  1. Developments

 

Nothing to report other than ongoing work to bring together a future programme of speakers.

 

  1. Election of Officers

 

Officers are as follows:

Acting Chairman/Secretary – Alan Sattenstall

Treasurer – vacant

Publicity Officer – John Owen

 

The treasurer’s position was raised at the meeting with no takers.

 

  1. Any Other Business

 

A vote of thanks was proposed from the floor to the Committee with appreciation of all the work it does to deliver an attractive programme of events, and particular reference was made of the summer outing to Kirkby Stephen.
