‘All About The Letter A’ – MIke Dodd
RCTS – West Midlands Branch Meeting Report

On Monday 15th December 2025 at 2.00pm our speaker was Mike Dodd from the Restoration & Archiving Trust based at Toddington on the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway. His talk, entitled “All About the Letter A’” used images from their archives and featured railways in Argentina, Australia and Austria followed by UK images from places whose names began with the letter A.
As well as images from Tony Bowles, from the Trust, the work of other well-known photographers included Paul Riley, Gerry Dixon and Mike Squires to name but a few! The show presented a procession of stunning photographs from far-flung places showing trains in contrasting scenery and rare weather conditions.
One visitor to our meeting was hoping to see pre-1954 pictures of the old station at Arddleen Halt situated an a long closed line in Mid-Wales. If you are able to help him, then please get in touch.
