Members’ Day and AGM 9th April 2022

We are delighted to be able to hold a face-to-face Members' Day and AGM this year. Please read the special AGM Supplement for full details of the day.

The supplement includes an agenda for the AGM, a chairman's report, a finance report, and other reports from several trustees summarising the work of the Society in 2021.

  • The day commences at 11:00 with a presentation by Chris Youett of photographs from the Ron Vincent colour archive.
  • After a buffet lunch, the business of the AGM commences at 13:15.
  • David Jackman finishes up with a Midlands-themed selection of images from the RCTS photograph archive.

The venue for the Members' Day is the Grand Station, Wolverhampton. This is, of course, a rebirth for the GWR's Wolverhampton Low Level station.

Parking

There are only six parking spaces available.  They will be reserved for people with mobility constraints; please contact the Chairman via chairman@rcts.org.uk to be allocated a permit.

We will be sharing the venue with a wedding party who will use the main entrance.  The entrance to the Brunel Suite where our meeting takes place is to the right.

Wolverhampton Low Level station

A lot of the site has been lost to a development of apartments, built around "Broad Gauge Way", but it will be fascinating to see what has been achieved in preserving and restoring John Fowler's original 1854 station buildings.

A few images from the RCTS photo collection have been assembled into a montage of its post-1960s story. Visit https://photo.rcts.org.uk/ if you want to see more.
