February 10th 2021 · “Taff Vale railway Part 1”

Presenter: Peter Fortune

57 Zoomers from South Wales, and England (welcome all) joined us for Peter Fortune’s excellent presentation of the Taff Valley railway (part 1).

Peter gave us a detailed review of the Taff Vale routes from Cardiff to Merthyr, up the Rhondda, Aberdare and along some of the little known lines to Llantrisant, Cowbridge and Creigiau. A lot of the images were from the 1950’s which brought back many memories for members, particularlyfor this reviewer whose father worked at Plymouth Goods depot, Merthyr in the 1920’s and 1930’s.

It was typically thorough and enjoyable review.
