Five decades of derailment investigation Worldwide – Mike McLoughlin

On 14th March Mike McLoughlin talked to us about derailment investigation starting with the BR Research Division who set up a derailment Investigation team in 1967 when derailments were mounting due to the introduction of modern traction and higher running speeds. Further work after he left BR involved detailed investigations in various countries around the World and how he set up various measurement devices in the field in order to assess the cause of the derailments.
