Members presentations dec 2023

Following the AGM a Members evening was held featuring a picture Quiz kindly compiled by Will Gibson for the Stephen Machell Trophy. The subjects were mainly locations to identify as well as some questions about unique trains and locomotives. Mike Ellis was victorious answering 28 of the 40 questions correctly and is now the proud keeper of the Trophy until next year.
This was followed by a series of slides presented by Mike Ellis from his extensive collection of railway images and Ron Oswald who presented a picture album of a day out on the Settle and Carlisle railway from a trip in the Guard’s van on a freight train in the 1980’s travelling from Hellifield to Carlisle. This was a very enjoyable and relatively well attended event giving some hope for the future.
