Pictorial Review of 2022 & 2023

The Branch were delighted on Saturday 13th January to welcome Branch member Keith Sanders, assisted by Davie Hall, Keith presenting his latest “Photographic Review” covering 2022 and 2023.

Comprehensive coverage of train movements primarily in East Lothian included Leander at North Queensferry and SNG receiving diesel assistance at Longniddry.  Flying Scotsman was recorded at Kinghorn whilst Scots Guardsman with 47802 featured on GBIV duty at Crossgates (Fife).  Royal Scot was noted at Abington.  A number of infrastructure trains from Millerhill were recorded in addition to various Mossend services.

Diesel excursions included Stevenage to Fort William with 47614+47593 and 37422+37425 on the last leg of Dumbarton to Eastleigh “Easter Highlander”, together with a number of “Northern Belle” and HST “Midland Pullman/Blue Pullman” workings at different times.

GBXV was noted at Abington.  Uddingston Viewpark to Oxwellmains cement empties plus Doncaster to Elderslie workings also featured.  A test train with HST Power Cars approaching Wallyford was noted.  Notable was a ScotRail Inter7City HST set passing Longniddry en route from Haymarket to Doncaster Works.  The reopened stations at Reston and East Linton were recorded.

Diesel & Electric traction included classes 37, 43 (HST), 47, 56, 57, numerous 66s, 67s, 68s and 88s.

The presentation was very much appreciated by the large number of attendees.
