Gerry started to the west of Swansea with the Mumbles Railway, which he went to great lengths to point out was not a tramway. The railway had, horse, steam, and electric traction over its life [the electric cars were huge seating 107 people], there were double sections but mostly single with passing places. The railway was closed in 1960.

We then visited the Vale of Towy railway and then onto the Manchester and Milford Railway which reached neither. From Aberystwyth we travelled south. There was a branch to  Newcastle Emlyn before the Line ran through Bronwydd Arms and into Carmarthen.

We travelled further west passing  a Castle and a 84XX Loco on passenger trains at stations at Tenby and Saundersfoot, arriving at both Fishguard and Milford Haven stations.

The talk was well received, and Gerry was given a rousing round of applause.
