Testing trains on BR since 1950s – Dave Coxon
On 25th March our booked speaker cried off so our Secretary Dave Coxon presented one of his talks. The talk encompasses the early days of Nationalisation and looks of the improvements made to steam engines, the introduction of the 'Modernisation Plan' and new diesels and the pioneering work undertaken at the RTC Derby. The last part reviews numerous tests undertaken in his own career at the RTC.
An interesting topic which brought back many happy memories for the audience of 20 members and guests judging by the questions and comments
