RCTS – West Midlands Branch Meeting Report

21st November 2022 – Coventry

On Monday 21st November 2022 branch member, Chris Youett, presented a show entitled ‘The Roy Vincent Collection’ - And what a show this was !! With the bonus of classic material from the Tm Williams archive this was definitely a show to be remembered.

The mainly Kodachrome images had been professionally restored and included many views not previously seen. Most mainland UK regions were covered starting in East Anglia and continuing nationwide.

When railways were King. A pair of ex-GWR Halls start a heavy express from Plymouth North Road for the Midlands. Note the second vehicle is one of Stanier's superb 65ft Restaurant Cars. An LMS loco will normally come on at Bristol Temple Meads. The slide is copyright of the Roy Vincent Estate.

These high quality pictures were mainly from the 1950s and early 1960s and together with Chris’ expert knowledge it was a complete history with details of the locos, carriages and wagons.
