Visit to Doncaster

The Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales branch made their bi-annual visit to Doncaster on October 11.  Whilst only 6 attendees made the trip the day was unusual in that they represented 4 RCTS branches - 2 intrepid explorers came from the Scottish branch, 1 from Cheltenham, 1 from Scunthorpe and 2 from Merseyside.  The banter and stories from around the country made it an enjoyable day out and the weather played ball as well.

There was nothing unusual seen that day apart from EMU 321334 which had recently been converted at Wabtec Doncaster to carry parcels around the UK, but it was good to see the many new liveries that keep appearing nowadays, especially on the 91s, 66s and the Lumos.  Freight was reasonably active during the day as we would expect.

Travel to and from Doncaster was problematic except for our friends from Scotland who managed their journey without a hitch.  It was agreed that the event should be repeated so that new friendships can be maintained.
