Visit to EMR’s Eastcroft Depot

10th February - a visit to EMR’s Eastcroft Depot

On 10th February 16 members of the Branch visited the East Midlands Railway’s Eastcroft light Maintenance depot at Nottingham. The visit was very interesting and was conducted by the Depot Manager who guided the members around the depot and was a mine of information about what processes are undertaken at the Depot. In the daytime the depot is quiet as the majority of work in undertaken on the trains when they have finished their daily diagrams.

However there are activities in the daytime not least of which was the re-furbishing of the class 158 DMUs which will be upgraded with new seats, carpets and WiFi. The class 170s are also maintained here

Altogether a very interesting visit - maybe we will try Etches Park next year!
