Visit to Stafford
Six members met at Stafford on what was a cold, grey, but mercifully dry, winter’s day. Further south, because of engineering work between Rugby and Milton Keynes, LNWR trains from Crewe were terminating at Rugby and west coast services to and from Euston were being diverted via Northampton.
As well as the usual glut of AWC Pendolinos, Cross Country Voyagers and LNWR 350s there was an interesting mix of freight and light engine workings.
In these surreal times it appeared that there were often more enthusiasts on the station than there were passengers!
