Visit to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway

Seven members made their way to Keighley to enjoy a return trip behind LMS Ivatt Class 2 2-6-2T no 41241, painted in striking red livery. At Oxenhope we enjoyed a tour of the Exhibition Shed before returning to Keighley. Operating the other service on the day was Pacer Class 144 no 144011.

Travel to Leeds before changing for a local service to Keighley was not problem-free; the two members travelling from Chester on Northern’s direct service to Leeds were unaffected by the current disruption on the railways but others travelling from Merseyside and the Midlands reported cancellations and subsequent overcrowding on TPE and Cross Country services.
