A Hitchin and Welwyn Garden City Presentation.
25th October at Welwyn Garden City.

A presentation by Richard Morris.

After the end of regular main line steam on BR, the preservation movement got to work and saved representative locomotives from most of the constituent companies. Some locos sadly didn’t make it, a few of those have now been re-created by new-build in order to fill in the gaps. Rich’s presentation aims to show locomotives from the Great Western Railway which made good their escape from Barry scrapyard or have been re-created since.
In the second part of the presentation, we will see images of what Rich has been up to over the past couple of years or so around the UK. Whilst travel was severely restricted during 2020 and the first half of 2021, a medical directive to take exercise up and down stairs meant Rich was officially instructed to go train watching during the lockdowns at a bridge over the Birmingham to Bristol line just a few minutes from home. Travel freedoms before and after the lockdowns will also be well represented.

Doors open 13:30.
