19 December 2025 – Christmas Buffet & Member’s Evening

For our Christmas Buffet and Members Evening, Jacky & Reg Wood provided an excellent festive spread.

Brian Arman started the evening off with slides of former GW & LMS steam in the Neath & Swansea area, included trains at Neath Riverside, Swansea High Street, Victoria, and Bay Stations. The first of the digital presentations was from John Baxter with a shot of himself on Huntingdon Station in 1977. This was followed up by pictures with a S&D theme in the Radstock area. Paul Udey presented excursions seen in the Bath area over the years hauled by King Edward 1, Clan Line, Lord Nelson, Bittern, several Class 67s, and a BLS railtour with three Class 59s plus 33012. Stewart Jolly concluded the first half with a selection of his pictures showing passenger and coal trains in South Wales, with many then and now scenes.

Craig Ryan started the second half with Jim Fraiser pictures taken in Bristol in 1949/50. Views included Saints, Dean Goods, an Oil Burning Hall, 18000, and GWR Diesel Railcars. Dale Robertson took an Inside Track Tour to French metre gauge lines and the National Railway Museum. George Hargreaves concluded the evening with Main Line and Heritage Steam, with many pictures at Dawlish.
