CSL Branch: The Route of the ‘Conti’, from Birkenhead to Margate, then and now

Ken Owen will describe and illustrate the route of the Conti – the through train that linked Birkenhead and Margate – then and now. An opportunity to look at the railway scene along the former Great Western mainline from Birkenhead to Banbury, and then across country via Oxford, Reading and Redhill to the South Coast focusing, though not entirely,on the period from the 60s and continuing into the present day.
