‘That Was the Year That Was – 1967’. Geoff takes us through another year of dashing around the country in pursuit of the remaining steam traction, in action and otherwise. Kicking off with a couple of ex-GWR Pannier Tanks, LT and industrial, then visiting Woodham’s Barry scrapyard, continuing to scenes around Leeds. There are views of Crewe Works and shed, Stoke-on-Trent and Stockport, Waterloo and the LSW main line, more LT panniers in action and the last day of the Cromford & High Peak line. A ‘Jubilee’ hauled RCTS railtour takes us to Wakefield and Middlesbrough, while a holiday in North Wales sees some of the narrow-gauge lines in action and dereliction. Stanier 8F action in the Hope Valley and some NCB sites are followed by WCML scenes from the Carnforth area to Shap, also some Settle & Carlisle pictures plus the Grassington branch. A quick look at Kingswear and the Dart Valley, a unique move from the Dart Valley to Didcot and a bit more NCB steam in Yorkshire. Lastly, Normanton shed visited in its death throes, just after Christmas 1967.
